Taster Recommendation: Order anything off the Korean Stews part of the menu

Windsor Seoul is a typical family-owned Asian restaurant– simple decor, extensive menu, low prices, and generous portions. Upon entering the building, you will notice lots of Asian patrons along with Korean pop-music to set the mood. Asian people dining in Asian restaurant = tasty Asian food. Period. The ingredients aren’t the highest quality, but the dishes are well-prepared and the restaurant is a good value for your buck.

They have a few Japanese dishes on the menu, like sushi, but stick to the Korean part of the menu which is their specialty – or try their Korean-Japanese fusion dishes if you’re feeling adventurous. The restaurant also offers All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ for those in desperate need of their protein fix.

If you go, try one of their great selection of teas.

Diner’s Favourites:

Dolsot Bibimbap. If you’ve never tried Korean food before, this mix of rice, vegetables, and egg is a popular staple of the cuisine. And for good reason– it’s delicious.

Kimchi Side-Dishes. Rather than bread and butter, snack on potatoes in a sweet sauce, kimchi, pickled bean sprouts and mashed potatoes. I know, I know… it sounds ridiculous – but trust us! It is awesome.

Diner’s Thoughts:

Taster Girl

I like the service here. The owner of this place is adorable. He’s friendly, welcoming, and helpful when he sees you’re spending way too much time staring at the huge menu puzzled about what to order.

The Bulgogi is good– tender and flavourful– but it’s a lotof meat for my preference. Not counting the side dishes (mmmm. . . kimchi, I could eat you as a meal!), my favourite thing is the Dolsot Bibimbap which is a big ol’ mess of rice, veggie, and egg deliciousness.

I’d recommend going here as a change-up from your usual Chinese take-out routine. Who knows? You might make this your new routine.

Windsor Seoul is an excellent alternative for those who are sick of that typical American-Style Asian food or Sushi. If you go here, get the Korean Stews since they are the best thing on menu. Some of these dishes have spam and/or hot-dog in them; I know it sounds crazy – but it is actually delicious. You don’t have to be that adventurous, you could just order one with regular ingredients.

Another thing that really blows me away here is how tasty and simple their side-dishes are – I had a helping of all four just for myself during my visit.

Mr. Muscles

The best thing about Asian restaurants is purposely mispronouncing the menu items to the waitress – who is completely Asian – so she can give you a funny look

For my main dish I chose the curry – because I can pronounce that and I didn’t want her to think I was completely retarded. I was expecting a stew, but instead I got a curry soup full of potatoes. There must have been only 5 TINY pieces of meat in there! I should have ordered the all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ.

The table of Korean business men pounding back sake while screaming at the top of their lungs with excitement pretty much made the atmosphere. I wish I were sitting with those guys.

I ordered some spicy chicken dish as a nod to the release of Diablo 3 and it was killer. Not only did my dish have that bright red that resembles diablo but its spicy level was perfect – very hot but not overwhelming. God bless Rooster Sauce.

The side dishes were interesting, but were only good for a small taste.

The noodle appetizer – which looked like something people would eat in Blade Runner or Star Wars – was awesome; it consisted of glass noodles with ground beef.
